Vergelegen Honored at Black Tie Awards Dinner

Don Tooth, Managing Director of Vergelegen, accepts 2005 “New World Winery of the Year” award from Wine Enthusiast Publisher & Editor Adam Strum 
Wine Enthusiast Magazine held its sixth annual Wine Star Awards Dinner, Monday evening, January 23rd, at the The Celeste Bartos Forum at the New York Public Library. Honoring outstanding achievements in the wine and spirits industry for the year 2005, the magazine presented awards to winners in 10 categories. The distinguished list of honorees included Pernod Ricard President Patrick Ricard, the Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, Champagne Louis Roederer, Don Sebastiani & Sons, Distiller Johnny Walker, and South Africa’s Vergelegen, which took the “New World Winery of the Year Award”.
In addition to being lauded for its world-class wines, Vergelegen was also praised for its efforts and initiatives in Black Empowerment and environmental biodiversity.
